David Breuer-Weil, art advisor, expert and consultant
David Breuer-Weil is a well-known art advisor, expert and consultant in the field of Impressionist, Modern and Contemporary art. He studied at Central Saint Martin's School of Art in London and Clare College, Cambridge before joining Sotheby's in 1988 where he became a Director of Impressionist and Modern art after having trained in several expert departments. He gained a reputation as one of the finest specialists in the business and joined Simon de Pury and Daniella Luxembourg in their private dealing operation, de Pury and Luxembourg Art, Geneva in 1997 where he worked until 2001, prior to their merger with Phillips. During and since that time he has helped to assemble some of the world's leading private collections. He has combined this expertise with his successful practice as a contemporary artist. He is based in London but regularly travels to meet collectors, both private and public throughout the World.
He is an expert and has handled important transactions in the work of several artists of this period, including Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Sisley, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne, Matisse, Picasso, Braque, Chagall, Modigliani and Giacometti.
